CrowdStrike University FAQ

About CrowdStrike University

CrowdStrike University is CrowdStrike's online training portal. CrowdStrike University is a Learning Management System (LMS) where all training activity records are tracked. This site offers professional training and education aimed at enhancing and expanding cybersecurity knowledge and abilities, from introductory to advanced capabilities.

CrowdStrike University provides users access to:

  • Self-paced training (eLearning courses) focused on helping you implement and administer CrowdStrike Falcon®.
  • “What’s New in Falcon” video series, formerly called PUVs, to ensure you understand recent feature updates and how they impact the way you work with Falcon.
  • Quick Technical Tips
  • The global training calendar “Live Sessions” which displays the dates and times for instructor-led classes.
  • Certification prep resources including free practice exams, exam guides, and webinars.
  • Links to CrowdStrike certification’s delivery provider Pearson VUE where candidates can register for exams
  • Transcripts of training records and certification exam records, including access to score reports from CrowdStrike exams taken at Pearson VUE.
  • Digital certificates and badges to represent learning achievements
CrowdStrike does not directly issue CPE/CEU credits. Each certifying body has different requirements and limits for the types and amounts of credits they will allow to be applied toward CPE/CEU. If your certifying body will accept CrowdStrike training toward CPE, the typical process is to use the certificate of attendance (downloaded from the Achievements section of your CrowdStrike University account) as proof of attendance to obtain continuing education credit.

On-Demand Courses

On-Demand courses are pre-recorded, instructor-led training sessions that allow you to learn at your own pace. They include expert lectures, lab demos, and 30 days of access to the CrowdStrike Falcon platform for hands-on exercises.
While both formats cover the same content and objectives, On-Demand courses offer the flexibility to start, pause, and review lessons as needed within a 30-day period, making it ideal for busy professionals.
On-Demand courses typically take 7-8 hours to complete. However, the 30-day access period allows you to spread the time across multiple sessions based on your availability.
Choose On-Demand if you like the flexibility to learn at your own pace, with 30 days of access to course materials and labs. Opt for Instructor-Led Training if you prefer a structured schedule with real-time interaction and immediate feedback from instructors.

Learners should begin on-demand instructor-led training at least 30 days before the expiration date of the training credits, as the course duration is 30 days. For example, if a learner’s training credits expire on April 30, the learner should Request Approval by April 1 at the latest.

Training credits applied to on-demand instructor-led courses cannot expire during the 30-day on-demand class period.

No, once an On-Demand course has started, it cannot be canceled or extended. The course is designed to be completed within the 30-day access period.
Once you’ve been successfully enrolled, you will have 30 days to complete the course. Please note, you will no longer have access to the course once those 30 days have passed. You can check when access will expire by going to the My Training section of your CrowdStrike University account and looking for the course under Not Started or In Progress. It will then show the number of days remaining beneath the course name.
During your 30-day period, you can review the learning material and complete the labs as many times as you wish. After this period, you will no longer have access to the labs or virtual environment.
After the course ends, you will continue to have access to the Student and Reference Guides if you maintain an active CrowdStrike University training subscription, which can aid in your daily work and certification exam preparation.

CrowdStrike Certifications

CrowdStrike certification exams validate proficiency in defined job roles and specialized skill areas that align to use of the Falcon platform.

Each exam consists of 60 multiple-choice, single-correct response questions. Certification candidates are given 90 minutes to complete the exam. To maintain exam security and to protect the integrity of our certification program, all exams are proctored. Candidates are not allowed to use any study aids, notes, or other reference materials when taking certification exams.

CrowdStrike Certification exams are delivered globally through a partnership with Pearson VUE. Visit Pearson VUE/CrowdStrike to learn more.

You may take your exam at a Pearson VUE test center or exam online using Pearson VUE OnVUE. Learn more about OnVUE.

Preparing for your Certification Exam

To take a CrowdStrike certification exam, you MUST accept the CrowdStrike Certification agreement in the exam registration process.

While there are no training prerequisites that have to be completed before an exam attempt, CrowdStrike strongly recommends that certification candidates take recommended training and review recommended reading as outlined in the CrowdStrike certification exam guides. CrowdStrike also strongly recommends a candidate have at least 6 months of experience with CrowdStrike Falcon®.

Review the exam guides to learn more about how to successfully prepare for your exam and what domains and exam objectives covered in each exam:

A CrowdStrike University account is not required, but CrowdStrike strongly recommends that candidates take recommended training and review recommended reading as outlined in the CrowdStrike certification exam guides. To access recommended training in CrowdStrike University, learners will need to have an active LMS annual subscription or access pass and may need to purchase CrowdStrike training credits to take advantage of instructor-led courses. Additionally, holding a CrowdStrike University account allows for seamless tracking of all of your learning and certification records in one central location.

CrowdStrike exam vouchers are priced at $250 USD. If you pay for your exam by credit card at Pearson VUE during the exam scheduling process, additional taxes and fees may apply.
Exam vouchers purchased from CrowdStrike and registrations completed directly through Pearson VUE with a credit card include one retake of the exam in the event that you do not pass on the first attempt. If you pass your certification exam on your first attempt, the second attempt may not be used toward another certification exam.
All vouchers purchased by PO have a 12-month term, meaning they expire 12 months from purchase. Some exam vouchers that are purchased with CrowdStrike multi-year product contracts may have varying exam voucher start and expiration dates. Check with your CrowdStrike account manager if you have questions.

Exam Retakes

Yes, you may retake your exam according to the exam retake policy described below. Exam vouchers purchased via CrowdStrike and exam registration processed directly with PearsonVUE each include one retake if needed.
The maximum allowed attempts for each certification exam is 4 attempts. Any additional attempts would need to be approved by our CrowdStrike certification team.
For security purposes and to encourage candidates to take additional time to prepare, there are wait periods between exam attempts. If you fail an exam on the first attempt and want to retake it, you must wait 48 hours before the second attempt. After the second attempt, you will need to wait 7 days for the third attempt and any subsequent attempts. Retakes beyond the 4th attempt will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis. CrowdStrike reserves the right to deny a retake beyond the 4th attempt. If the 4th attempt is a failure due to a technical issue the student can reattempt for a 5th time.

Digital Badges

Open badges are web-enabled versions of a credential, certification or learning outcome which can be verified in real-time, online. CrowdStrike partners with Credly to translate the learning outcomes you’ve demonstrated (including completion of training courses and passing certification exams) into digital badges.
You will receive an email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions for claiming your badge and setting up your account.
You can easily configure your privacy settings in Credly. You’re in complete control of the information about yourself that is made public.
While badges are simply digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on Credly. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity.
