CrowdStrike Named a Leader in 2024 GigaOm Radar for Container Security

With perfect scores in seven key categories, CrowdStrike is uniquely positioned to help customers secure container applications and AI workloads

CrowdStrike has been recognized as a Leader and Fast Mover in the 2024 GigaOm Radar for Container Security, marking another milestone in our mission to secure the cloud with the industry's most unified and comprehensive cloud security solution.

Kubernetes has become the fastest-growing project in the history of open-source software — more than 60% of enterprises have adopted it. AI is similarly revolutionizing industries, while also expanding the attack surface for adversaries targeting sensitive models and data.

The importance of container security cannot be overstated, GigaOm reports. Containerization introduces new security risks due to the dynamic nature of containers, their shared kernel space and the larger attack surface they present.

CrowdStrike has significantly advanced its container security capabilities to protect cloud-native applications. In its evaluation, GigaOm rated CrowdStrike a perfect 5/5 in seven key categories while highlighting CrowdStrike's ability to provide comprehensive protection across the entire application lifecycle:

"Falcon Cloud Security offers comprehensive protection from code to cloud, covering the entire application development lifecycle. It seamlessly integrates with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools for continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, runtime protection, and automated compliance enforcement,” the report states.

Perfect Scores in Key Categories

The categories in which CrowdStrike received a 5/5 rating are: Integrated Threat Intelligence, Lifecycle Security Management, Registry Scanning & Monitoring, Flexibility, Management, Interoperability and Scalability. CrowdStrike is clearly focused on delivering the innovative and reliable cloud security solutions that customers need.

The report highlights several strengths of CrowdStrike Falcon® Cloud Security:

1. Contextual Risk Analysis: “Falcon Cloud Security combines CVSS scores with critical business context, including sensitive data location and active exploitation in the wild. Its AI-driven risk scoring considers factors such as asset criticality, severity of risk, probability of attack, and business impact, providing complete business and application context for detected drifts that allow teams to prioritize their criticality effectively.”

2. Integrated Threat Intelligence: “Falcon Cloud Security integrates CrowdStrike’s threat intelligence, tracking 245+ adversaries and processing 800,000 new indicators of compromise monthly. This automates threat investigation and delivers actionable intelligence reporting, making insights instantly accessible within analysts' workflows.”

3. Lifecycle Security Management: “Falcon Cloud Security offers comprehensive protection from code to cloud, covering the entire application development lifecycle. It seamlessly integrates with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools for continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, runtime protection, and automated compliance enforcement across applications, cloud service providers, and IT.”

Taken together, these strengths translate into effective cloud breach protection that thousands of CrowdStrike customers rely on. Customers especially value the ability to prioritize the most relevant threats to their environment in real time and easily stop those threats in one platform covering the entire application lifecycle.
